How we work

From the question to the screen.

Every story, whatever its world, takes the same road: seven steps, and a human eye at every one.

  1. 01
    Discover

    A question worth telling

We start with a real question: an event people are talking about, an idea that sounds strange, a place few people know. And we ask: what did nobody expect here?

  2. 02
    Research

    Back to the primary sources

We read the document, the study, the archive and the official statement, not what was said about them, and gather enough to understand the story before we tell it.

  3. 03
    Verify

    Every fact with its source

Every number, name and date goes back to its source before it enters the story. What we cannot verify stays out.

  4. 04
    Design

The story before the first frame

We draw the thread that hands each sentence to the next, choose the map, the drawing and the picture that explain, and set the rhythm so the story is understood on first viewing.

  5. 05
    Create

    Real pictures, motion and sound

We build the story with real pictures, graphics, motion and sound, in clear language the narrator speaks as if talking to a friend.

  6. 06
    Review

A human eye before any viewer

Editors read and watch the story before it goes out: is it right? Is it clear? Is every picture in its place? Whatever fails the review goes back a step.

  7. 07
    Publish

In the viewer's language, on their screen

We publish the story on the screen people carry, in their language, and we correct it if we get something wrong.

What comes together in every story

Editorial research

Precise questions, primary sources.

Verification

Every fact with its source.

Motion

Movement that explains, and none without a reason.

Video

Real pictures, each with a known source.
